every year a contest is held to determine what the design for snow miku will look like for the following year
the contest is open to anyone as long as you use a provided template and follow the theme for the year
today the finalists were announced and can be voted on to determine the winner of snow miku 2027!

anywaaaays the real reason i made this post was for an excuse to share my entry!!
as soon as the theme was announced (Secret☆Metamorphosis), i immediately started sketching out a butterfly miku!,, that was until i decided i wanted to incorporate fur into her design... then i realized that a furry butterfly is just a moth
so then i sketched out a moth miku!!
her design is inspired by luna moths so i tried to incorporate the silhouette of the wings throughout miku and yukines design
then it was time to figure out the color pallette!
first i tried a muted color pallette with shades of brown to reflect your average common moth
then i tried to lean into pastels for a magical girl kinda vibe
and last i went for a typical forest-y color pallette that best reflected the luna moth motifs
if its not obvious from the more detail in this design,,,, this is the one i ended up choosing
this whole competition was a huge test of my knowledge of character design...... i tried super hard to give her an interesting silhouette that could reflect a moth, to acheive this i really leaned into curves and downturned elements
i also payed close attention to the distribution of colors in the design, my goal was to make it so you could easily tell whats going on if the design was grayscaled
(this was escpecially important to me because i wanted to go with my usual lineless style)
after 10+ hours of drawing i finished the design......

tsuki's birthday!

appearently i havent made blog post since last year, but thats okay cause i have something very important to speak about today
today is the birthday of one of my favorite seals ever,.. Tsuki-Chan from the Tokkari Center **
the name tsuki might not ring a bell but you might know her mom Yo-chan

last year yo and katsunori gave birth to a beautiful grub looking baby named tsuki
as tsuki has grown up she has proven to be the noisiest seal in the entire center, you can genuinely hear her "gooing" in the background of videos that have nothing to do with her
they grow up so fast oh my god
she also has a bit of a sassy attitude like her mom
speaking of her mom.. did you know that tsuki means moon and yo means sun?? so cute
ok anyways happy birthday tsuki-chan!! im so excited for another year of tsuki! *
new years eve

the new year has actually snuck up on me super fast ! at the beginning of the year i felt like the days were going by super slow and then one day in febuary i blinked and now its about to be 2026
i was gonna complain about how i havent coded much this year but that totally a lie?? i coded and recoded and TON of pages., i honestly dont remember making half of these things
i feel pretty whatever about most of the things i code, most of the time i dont think my pages are good enough but then like,, who are they not good enough for?? this is literally my website?? i coded these pages with my own 2 hands and thats good enough for me i guess

this was haunt-culture homepage at the beginning of 2025!! i was super proud of it at the time even though im pretty sure i needed a lot of help making it
anyways im 99.98% sure that my current home page is 100% better than that one,, it just goes to show how much i improved in a year and i think i should be proud of myself
outside of coding i started off 2025 really rough, despite this, a lot of really good things happened to me that made up for it!! 2025 was a year of a lot of first time doing things, i think this might have been one of the best years ive had in a long time!
if i can look past the horrors of 2025 and be able to call it a good year im sure i'll survive whatever 2026 is planning for me

mashiro (the seal)

today is a very important day.... it is mashiros first rescue anniversary!!! yay
mashiro is a very cute seal pup rescue that lives at the tokkari center in japan
he was a very shy and underweight little baby seal..... he didnt even know how to eat fish correctly
hes grown up so much this year and can now be found hanging out with tsuki chan and swallowing fish whole, hes even learning how to gyu!!
you can see his progress through the photos and videos they post of him on the tokkari centers instagram
also his name means pure white because of the snow they found him in!
yay for mashiro kun! i cant wait for another year of mashiro *

i finally made a new blog page! yay.... i honestly have no idea what to write on a blog... i guess you can really write about anything on a blog
i got tired of my mini blog because i refused to let myself ramble and yap about shit too much because it was a MINI blog...
so i locked in and coded this page real quick.,.
i meant to code a lot more while i was on break from school but i opened ph code and just stared at it for like 3 days straight
ive really been meaning to finish reworking and updating my doll pages but i just havent felt like it!!!
